Krystal Shares Thoughts On Playing A Timid Secretary With A Terminal Illness In Upcoming Drama With Kim Jae Wook

f(x)’s Krystal opened up about her upcoming KBS 2TV drama “Crazy Love” (literal title)!

“Crazy Love” tells the story of a sweet yet savage and chaotic romance between a rude but skilled instructor who receives a death threat and his terminally ill secretary. Kim Jae Wook stars as Noh Go Jin, the narcissistic CEO of the education company GOTOP and the top math instructor in the country with an IQ of 190. Krystal plays Noh Go Jin’s secretary Lee Shin Ah, who does not have much of a presence.

Lee Shin Ah is a timid character who manages the struggle of being Noh Go Jin’s secretary for over a year, but her life takes an unexpected turn when she finds out that she does not have much time to live. Concerning her character, Krystal commented, “Lee Shin Ah’s biggest strength is her patience and diligence. She’s a realistic person from everyday life who puts off the happiness of the present for a while for her dreams and silently runs towards the future.”

The newly released poster for the drama gives a peek at the changes that Lee Shin Ah goes through as she is crushed with the news that she doesn’t have much time to live. She is biting her lip and staring fiercely at someone. The text reads, “I, Lee Shin Ah, can’t die like this. Noh Go Jin, you’re going to pay for this.”

Krystal commented, “The process of Lee Shin Ah’s change after finding out she has a terminal illness was impressive. Sometimes, she was honest with her feelings, but because of her kind and pure heart, she was mor worried about Noh Go Jin than anyone else, and those scenes were enjoyable.” Then she added Lee Shin Ah’s charms can’t be described in one word.

Krystal shared that Lee Shin Ah is different from the other characters she’s played before. Rather than being charismatic or exuding “girl crush” charms, Lee Shin Ah is more like the girl-next-door type with her loveable sides. Sometimes, she makes people laugh even though she’s not trying to be funny. Krystal attempted to bring out those points with a neat and comfortable style by wearing simple jackets, vests, shirts, and turtlenecks.

Regarding the script, Krystal remarked, “The development of the unique plot of romance between a man who receives a death threat and a woman who receives news that she’s terminally ill was very interesting.”

Then she added, “It was so hard hold back my laughter on the set. I hope that viewers will laugh comfortably while watching ‘Crazy Love.’ So I would be thrilled if they remember it as a drama that made them happy.”
